The Head of Brand Marketing and Communications is a critical role which will provide leadership, guidance and ensure the creation of a unified company voice and design vocabulary, utilizing consumer feedback and aligning with the core brand story across the organization.  

In this new role you will partner with our VP of Marketing and be a key member of the Marketing team as well as a valued partner to the broader executive team. You will help build and provide leadership to the Communication, Creative, Content and Events teams and you will work closely with a cross functional brand team across the company. 

What you'll be responsible for

  • Building and developing a team that is passionate, dedicated, commercially astute, efficient, high achieving and inclusive. 
  • Supporting an environment of empowerment for team and colleagues with the resources, tools and support they need to encourage them to anticipate and exceed expectations.
  • Working closely with the executive team to advocate for brand objectives and promote consistency of the overall brand strategy across the organization.
    • Brand Strategy and management
      • Work with key stakeholders to develop and maintain Lightspeed’s brand strategy and objectives.
      • Implement the right framework to analyze Lightspeed’s brand perception and image in our markets and benchmark against key competitors.
      • Create and oversee the execution of the global brand roadmap. 
      • Evolve and grow the brand image and message, then maintain it consistently and persistently across all channels. 
      • Lead strategic company conversations to ensure brand strategy alignment across all levels of the company.
      • Ensure ongoing understanding of shifting consumer mindset, market trends, competitive landscape, customer feedback and ultimately customer insights to ensure strategic marketing direction and increase effectiveness.
      • You know how to build a dedicated and loyal community around a brand and to make it live inside out and outside in the company
    • Brand implementation and championing
      • Work closely with Product, Support, People and Culture and Marketing teams to ensure consistent application of the brand identity in all business units, communication channels, and across visual and verbal mediums. This includes, but is not limited to: 
        • Employee onboarding experience
        • Customer journey, from discovery to onboarding to support
        • Partnership onboarding
        • Brand consistency across all markets and verticals
      • Collaborate with the heads of marketing, together with the brand team, to ensure the right strategy is crafted to spread a brand’s message across the markets.
      • Collaborate with the head of communications to craft public relations campaigns in all major markets (NOAM, EMEA, APAC) that drive Lightspeed’s corporate and innovation brand story and increase the company’s share of voice in priority markets. 
      • Oversee and drive external partnership opportunities and relationships. 
      • Set global brand KPIs and define measures of success, reporting on results and providing recommendations for improvement.
      • Lead global brand awareness initiatives and campaigns.

What you'll be bringing to the team

  • Extensive experience in a Marketing and Brand position in large organizations managing teams with diverse and varied interests and backgrounds 
  • Strong understanding of nuance of branding in B2B / SaaS vs. B2C consumer environments 
  • Effective communication with stakeholders from different regions and levels
  • Data-driven, and results-driven marketer
  • Proven current/recent success with developing and implementing solid brand strategies including strategic planning, communications planning and management, marketing
  • Proven leadership skills in the ability to recruit, mentor, coach and develop employees
  • Experience in tech
